Zunerific!

You probably thought I had just forgotten about Microsoft's Zune. I haven't bashed on it for a while. This is mostly because the Zune has done almost nothing in the marketplace and there wasn't anything to write about until recently. Microsoft 'stupidly' has released new Zune players for the holidays this year. These 'new' players are not the amazingly innovative and cool devices that M$ would have to deliver to even make a small market share move against the Apple iPod juggernaut. So, it has become clear that Microsoft's strategy is to 'sneak up on em'. It's a 25 year plan and boy are they gonna surprise em! Anyway, the Zune is by all measures a failure and M$ should put those hundreds of millions of dollars of resources into fixing Windows Vista instead.
Here is an article that analyzes why this years efforts will again lead to failure for the Zune.

P.S.
In case you were wondering, none of the new model Zune's show up in Amazon's top 50 bestsellers in electronics. 8 iPod models are in the top 50.

Stranger than Fiction

Sometimes things come along that you just couldn't make up. They sound like a headline from The Onion or somesuch tongue in cheek web rag.
This headline "World Toilet Czar finds beauty in Times Square". is actually in the New York Times. And, it's not a joke.
Who knew that there was a World Toilet Organization? I went to this site and was very saddened to see that I missed 'World Toilet Day' on November 19th! That was just a couple of days ago. If I had only known!

Silence, I kill you!

One of the funniest videos I've seen in a long time.

Japan hears a Leopard Growl

I think the Japanese have it figured out.
HERE is a story about the success of Apple's new OSX Leopard operating system in Japan.
It accounted for 53% of all OS sales in Japan last month. Pretty good for an 'also ran' 'kids' computer with 'only' 8% market share.

Liking the logic

This letter to God written by a child really nails the logic.
I want to see what this kid does when she grows up.

Thanks to HockeyGuy for the pic.
