Xmas 06

Merry Christmas to all. Here are a few pics from our Christmas Eve/Day. Thanks to all for your wonderful gifts and holiday cheer. May your New Year be spectacular!

The Carter Family Christmas Tree 2006

Christmas Eve Dinner. We had dinner on Christmas Eve this year because Michelle had to work at the hospital Christmas Day in the afternoon.

The traditional pajamas on Christmas Eve. Shelby had been asking for 'footies' again and she got some!

KJ's surprise at the Nintendo Wii he and Shelby got this year. We had him convinced they were too hard to find. (they actually were very hard to find. long story, ask us sometime.)

Shelby and KJ playing the 'Boxing' game included with the Wii. Very entertaining! With the motion sensing remote controllers you have to 'move' to move your player. Shelby took right to the new controllers and promptly 'KO'ed' KJ in their first boxing match. I didn't include a pic of KJ's reaction. You wouldn't want to see it ;)

Zuzu's Petals

Here is Christmas gift number 2 for Michelle this year.
I just ran across THIS article. I know she will find it as interesting as I did.
Her favorite movie is "It's a Wonderful Life". In the film there is a little girl named Zuzu that loses some petals from the flower she brings home. Her Father, George Bailey,(James Stewart) pretends to glue them back on. The term 'Zuzu's petals' became synonymous with the film. The actress, Karolyn Grimes, that played Zuzu is still alive and does appearances. The interview is an interesting look at the behind the scenes etc. of the 1946 film.
Merry Christmas!

Fire in the hole!

Check out these funny pics. I know you see things like this all the time but some of these are a little more creative than usual I think.

Carol of the Bells

My first Christmas present to Michelle this year came early. She loves the Christmas song, 'Carol of the Bells'. She mentioned that she would love a CD with different versions of that song on it. So, I hit iTunes and gave her her wish. She loves it and so I thought I would share the list with y'all in case you are closet Carol of the Bells lovers. Enjoy! Oh, and Merry Christmas!

Vista ≠ OSX

Finally! Proof that Microsoft did not 'steal' Windows Vista features from Apple's OSX.
Here is a tongue in cheek video showing the 'proof'. Very funny.

Now that's silly - NOT

File this one under "Life is stranger than fiction." US troops in Iraq are using 'silly string' to detect trip wires around home made IED roadside bombs. Who would have thunk it?

Twisted

HERE is another example of how twisted our world has become. Everyday it seems I am hearing/reading about something that just makes me shake my head. The linked story is one of those. An elementary school is holding a fundraiser "Breakfast with Santa" and a parent complained that they shouldn't be using a "religious figure" to promote anything at a public school. While I understand the underlying concern that Santa Claus is a part of the Christian holiday, calling Santa Claus a 'religious figure' is ridiculous.
Oh, by the way, Happy Kwanzahanukahmas everyone!
