George Orwell would be proud. The latest scheme to bring Orwell's '1984' to life is being hatched in Great Britain.
It seems they have a traffic problem on the small island of pasty skin and bad teeth. It's getting so bad that they are seriously talking about instituting a 'pay by the kilometer' solution. Satellites would track every vehicle on every trip made on the island and charge appropriately for time of day and location of travel multiplied by distance travelled.
And it comes with the nice little side effect of the government being able to know where you are and where you are going at any time.
Assuming you are in your car that is. I'm sure they'll solve that problem next.
