EDGE vs 3G

If you have an iPhone or are thinking of getting one and are worried about surfing the 'real' internet on AT&T's EDGE network you should check out the YouTube video below. It is in German but you should get the idea. In a side by side comparison the hardware and iPhone OS make up for the slower EDGE network by displaying the page quicker and in a more usable way (in my opinion). What do you think?

I've had 3 smartohones before my iPhone, all on 3G networks... As you know I was afraid of feeling the pain of Edge on my iPhone. Not only do I rarely notice a speed problem with the iPhone browser, but my old Treo could have 100 times the speed of Edge - The experience would still be a dog compared to browsing on the iPhone.

Now, once 3rd party apps are plentiful for the iPhone, I would welcome the speed bumb of the next gen iPod for things like SlingBox and remote dekstop connections.
