Revelations Fulfilled

I was reading an article about the Tsunami in Southeast Asia the other day in US News and World Report. It spoke of the devastation and the unbelivable nature of the destruction. It had some personal stories and observations of some survivors. It was one of these stories from the article that caused my wife, Michelle, to remind me of a scripture that almost perfectly described what happened.

Here is the Scripture. It is from the New Testament in Matthew:

Matthew 24:40-42 (actually the whole chapter applies)
"40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come."

Now here is the portion of the article:

US News and World Report - January 24th 2005
Finding God in Tragedy
"...A boy who climbs one palm tree survives; the one in the next gets swept away.
A woman decides to walk this way to her aunt's house and lives; if she had walked that way, she would have died..."

Now I'm not saying Christ is returning tomorrow or even this year, but to me this is a testimony that the signs to precede his second coming are happening all around us.

Doctrine and Covenants 38:30
"...but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear."
