Hey, you can't drive there!

Many people don't know it but the SUV's they are driving are banned on thousands of miles of California roads. Other parts of the country have this ban as well.
It seems that many of our SUV's have crossed the boundary between light and heavy trucks. Residential neighborhoods all over the country ban vehicles over 6000 pounds.
This article explains it all.
I love this quote from the article,
I think the Golden State has stumbled on a way to end this hypocrisy, and the rest of the country should take notice. Six-thousand pounds is a reasonable and established dividing line between passenger vehicles and trucks. (I even think it's an instinctual dividing line between SUVs that seem large, like the Ford Explorer, and those that seem absurdly large, like the Ford Expedition.)

So, Mr. Guadspot, how are you going to get home tonight without breaking the law!?! ;)
Thanks to Mr. Wildseed for the link!

Good 'ol class warfare.

So far it's still okay to drive over the 6000 lbs as long as you're traveling to and from your residence... I just can't cut through all the poor neighborhoods, aside from this law, they like to fling their trash and the Kerry/Edwards signs from their lawns at the SUV's.

I think if I could afford it, I would buy a hummer just to annoy the crap out of people.

Love,

Guadspot.
